Introduced in the early 2000s, Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is current United States Army forces battle uniform and the successor to both the classic Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) and Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU). It consists of a combat shirt and cargo pants with numerous notable design changes that distinguish ACU uniform from its predecessors. The ACU shirt has a mandarin collar with hook-and-loop closing and zippered front closure covered with a hook-and-loop flap, as well as back pleats and hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs. Further, there are slanted chest and sleeve pockets with hook-and-loop flaps, 3-slot pen pocket on the left arm, elbow pads pockets, and loop panels on chest and sleeves for name tapes, rank insignia, morale patches, etc. ACU pants come with reinforced seat, knee pads pockets and drawstring tie legs as well as standard front and back pockets, calf pockets with hook-and-loop closure and tilted cargo pockets with hook-and-loop closure and elastic drawstring to ensure secure carry. ACU combat shirt and cargos from MFH have all those characteristics but also come in a unique Vegetato Desert camo pattern. It works well in dry and sandy arid surroundings and is ideal for Airsoft enthusiasts who welcome unconventional camouflages.
